Northern Territory GiovernmentDefence of Darwin Experience

History

In July 2008, the Northern Territory Government announced that East Point Reserve would become the location for the World War II Defence of Darwin Museum, now known as the Defence of Darwin Experience.

The Defence of Darwin Experience was developed to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin and to foster an increased awareness of the bombing of Darwin and the Territory's involvement in World War II.  This facility was designed to attract locals wanting to learn more about this important time in our history, as well as providing a significant new attraction increasing the Territory's tourism appeal.
